When Cronos holds Lief above the floor, use the fairy’s copy/create action. The developer recording copies a green object near the north side and creates it on the centre runner below Lief; the restraint ends immediately afterward.
Solve the opening trap
- Locate the green objects near the upper left and upper right edges of the room.
- Move the fairy to one and copy it. The developer recording selects the left-hand one at 17:40.
- Create the green object on the central runner, below the suspended Lief. Placement is visible at 17:43.
- Once Lief is released, move away from Cronos and resume controlling your position around the room.
The critical point is that the fairy remains usable while Lief is restrained. The independent fight also shows a green object being selected before the restraint ends, although its sequence is faster. Developer opening, 17:38–17:47 · Independent opening
Equip the Rift Wand for the moving phase
The purple tool used during this fight is the Rift Wand. Its pickup explanation says its magic passes through walls and swaps Lief with small objects or foes. This is why Lief can suddenly appear on the raised northern strip while a blue object appears where Lief was standing. It is a position exchange, not an ordinary jump carrying an object. Item explanation at 8:17
Use the wand against one of the small blue objects along the north side. The developer sequence shows a wand projectile travelling north at 17:50, followed by Lief on the upper strip and a blue object on the arena floor at 17:51. The independent recording shows the same exchange around 12:21–12:22. Developer exchange · Independent exchange
Use the recorded blue-object positioning pattern
- Pick a position on the lower arena floor where Cronos is likely to pass as it follows your movement.
- Face a blue object on the northern strip and fire the Rift Wand. The exchange brings that object onto your former position.
- Return to the lower arena and move around the placed object while avoiding Cronos’s projectiles. Leave space for the boss to approach it.
- In the successful recordings, the placed blue object disappears in a blue burst as Cronos approaches, and the boss flashes purple. Repeat the observed exchange and movement pattern while avoiding attacks.
The blue-object interaction is visible at 17:57–17:58 in the developer recording. The independent fight shows another placed object beside Cronos at 12:19, followed by its disappearance and the boss flashing at 12:20. These matching sequences support the positioning strategy. They do not distinguish a proximity trigger from a contact or timed trigger, so do not depend on an exact fuse or collision radius. Developer contact sequence · Independent contact sequence
Avoid the spell attacks and collect the reward
Keep moving when Cronos launches the green spread. Later attacks include red projectiles and a larger spread near the end of the independent fight. Move away from the incoming pattern before lining up another swap; do not treat the northern strip as guaranteed permanent safety. Late attack pattern
After the defeat animation, collect the heart reward. The independent video explicitly confirms an increase to maximum life at 12:38; the developer recording shows the same reward sequence around 18:14. Maximum-life reward
Cronos or Chronos?
The in-game title card spells the boss CRONOS, with the subtitle “Infernal Wizard’s Hat.” The independent video’s chapter text uses “Chronos.” These notes use the game’s spelling and retain the alternate spelling only to help readers find the same encounter. Title card
