The Rift Wand exchanges Lief’s position with small objects or foes. Its magic can travel through walls, making it useful when walking or jumping cannot reach the other side. Obtain it during the Timelocked Villa section, then assign it through the Equip screen.
Recognize the pickup location
In the developer’s Timelocked Villa walkthrough, the pickup appears around 8:15–8:18. Look for the narrow alcove at the upper right of a grey, damaged room. Two pots occupy the area below and to the left; the room has broken flooring and a passage along the bottom. The purple wand is displayed above Lief when collected. Pickup-room view
These landmarks identify the final pickup room. They are not a complete route from the dungeon entrance, and this guide does not infer the required keys from the edited pace of the recording.
The item message identifies the Rift Wand, explains the position exchange, and directs the player to equip it. The following inventory sequence shows the purple wand assigned to an item slot. Use the input shown by your own layout; the footage’s button label is not a universal keyboard binding. Description and equipment sequence
Think about both ends of the exchange
Before firing, check where Lief will arrive and where the target will end up. A successful exchange changes both positions. When moving an object into a useful place, Lief’s starting position matters just as much as the target’s location.
The Cronos fight provides a clear example. At 17:50–17:51 in the developer recording, the wand targets a blue object on the northern strip. Lief appears on that strip, while a blue object occupies the lower arena. An independent recording shows the same pattern at 12:21–12:22. Developer example · Independent example
Swapping versus copying
The fairy’s copy/create mechanic reproduces an object at a chosen position. The Rift Wand exchanges positions with a target. If a puzzle needs an extra object, consult copy and spawn. If it needs Lief and an existing object to trade places, consider the wand instead.
The pickup text specifies small objects or foes. It does not promise that every enemy, large boss or scenery piece is a valid target. For the verified combat application, follow the Cronos strategy.
The pickup and item description come from developer footage. Community footage independently shows the combat exchange; exact range and all valid targets are unknown.
